SLC WOMEN’S T20 SUPER PROVINCIAL TOURNEY
Colombo entered the finals of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) T20 Super Provincial Tournament spearheaded by Sanduni Nisansala’s efforts with the ball claiming 3 for 16 in defeating Kandy by 49 runs at the SSC grounds yesterday. Colomthbo will now meet Dambulla in the final at the SSC tomorrow. Dambulla beat Galle by 3 wickets at the same venue. Having restricted Galle to 105 for 7, Dambulla replied with 106 for 7 with Hansima Karunaratne making 64
In a must win match, defending a total of 163 for 4 in 20 overs, Colombo’s Sanduni Nisansala delivered in dismissing Kandy for 114 in 19.5 overs. Ama Kanchana took 2 for 15 and skipper Oshadi Ranasinghe 2 for 19 in demolishing Kandy. Colombo’s top scorer was opener Hasini Perera with 60 with Dilani Manodara making 45 while skipper Oshadi made 33 in a fine all-round performance.
Kandy was once again virtually dependant on skipper Harshitha Madavi Samarawickrama who however found it too much to handle it alone making 52 for her second half century in the tournament following her 66 in their first match in been in the thick of the runs having also scored 44 in the second match.
