SLC WOMEN’S T20 SUPER PROVINCIAL TOURNAMENT 2019
Dambulla emerged the super champions defeating Colombo by 7 wickets in a one sided final of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Women’s T20 Super Provincial Tournament at the SSC yesterday. Colombo was all at sea being shot out for 98 runs in 18.4 overs having won the toss and elected to bat. Dambulla’s run chase was spearheaded by veteran Shashikala Siriwardena who made an unbeaten 56 off 41 balls inclusive of 7 boundaries and 2 sixes as her side won in 16.2 overs. She was associated in a 70-run second wicket alliance with Hansima Karunaratne who made 21 off 37 containing 2 boundaries.
The top scorer for Colombo was skipper Oshadie Ranasinghe who made an unbeaten 23 off 21 balls with 3 boundaries while Ama Kanchana made 19 off 23 with 2 boundaries. The wrecker was Sugandika Kumari who claimed 3 wickets for 13 runs while Hansima Karunaratne took 2 for 18 and Shashikala Siriwardena 2 for 21 in a final that saw the latter two excel with superb all-round performances.
